Essie A-List - Santa Manicure

Good Evening! I hope everyone had a good weekend - I can't believe that Christmas is next week - I am so excited! I absolutely love this time of year - the food, getting together with my family, buying gifts for everyone - it just makes me so happy :) I am really tired right now, my sister Emily and I went shopping all day today - and man I am just beat. But I wanted to share this weeks manicure with you since I am sure this coming week will be hectic.
For this manicure, I decided to use Essie - A-List - #434 - I have had it for quite sometime - but this just so happens to be the very first Essie polish I ever bought, lol! Anyway - I got the idea for my thumbnail from another blogger - Layniefingers - When I was browsing through her blog last week and found this - I had to try it. I just thought it was too cute to pass up - so a big thanks to Laynie for the idea :) I am sort of new to creating art on my nails, usually I just paint them a color and go on, but I decided to try and get more creative. So this one nail probably took me way to long to do, but I really tried hard and did the best that I could. Anyway, enough talk, I will hurry up and post these pics so I can get to bed.
As I said before, I used Essie - A-List for the base of all my nails, I used L.A. Colors in Black and White for the details on the coat and the belt and then I used Revlon - Silver Screen - #918 for the belt buckle and covered it all with Seche Vite. I know it's not perfect, but I did my best, and I think for not doing this type of thing all the time, I did pretty good :)

Thanks for reading - please let me know what you think!

Sinful Colors & Orly Polish Change

Good Afternoon! Hope everyone is having a good week so far - :) a little chilly here in Indiana, but nothing too extreme.

This week I wanted to do something a little more festive since Christmas is right around the corner. I have had this Orly polish since Thanksgiving and decided it was finally time I tried it - the color is Tiara #40664. So in honor of the snow we received here over the weekend I chose to pair it with Sinful Colors - Snow Me White #101 (which I actually borrowed from my sister Emily) since I was at my parents at the time. This was the first time I have used either one of those brands of polish and I like them both. The Sinful Colors polish was a little streaky at first - but after about 2 or 3 coats - I got it to where I wanted it. I then added a coat of Seche Vite then I also used about 3 coats of the Orly and topped that with Seche Vite as well. Overall I am very happy with my manicure and I think that it's pretty cute!

Revlon Top Speed - Vintage #570

Good Afternoon!! So I FINALLY put some polish on my poor little naked nails - whew I feel so much better hehehe. I just got this color the other day at CVS - so I have been dying to try it. It's from Revlon's new Top Speed collection the color is called Vintage #570 and I love it!! I did 2 coats - which really I could have gotten away with just doing 1 - which is really nice! I just did 2 to smooth it out and I think it's pretty much a habit by now. I haven't put a top coat on yet - so I think once I get a chance to - it will really be pretty. I ran out of time last night... I was so tired and had Christmas presents to finish wrapping - anyway let me know what you think!!

Do you have any from this collection?

(Without Flash - the color is a little more burgandy than it shows in these pictures)

EOS - Evolution of Smooth

Hello! I really should be working right now, but I just remembered something that I have been wanting to post about for quite some time - So I figured since I didn't do a nail polish change this week(so far) I would post about another product that I am just in love with. Suprisingly it isn't a nail polish - it's a lip balm - it's called EOS - Evolution of Smooth and I just ♥ it. A big thanks to my little sister Emily for turning me on to this product :)
For starters the packaging is just too cute - as you can see it looks like a candy ball or a jawbreaker. It is about the size of a ping pong ball. What I love most about that packaging is that you can just throw it in the bottom of your purse and easily find it the next time you need to use it. But yet you don't have to worry about twisting it up to get the lip balm out of the tube like other brands. I have the one pictured below - that is the Summer Fruit flavor - which is delicious by the way - the rest of the flavors I have listed and linked below as well.

Honeysuckle Honeydew Lip Balm Stick

I really can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the flavors as they all sound amazing. For the most part I think you can purchase them at your local CVS, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, etc. I bought mine at Wal-Mart and it was about 3 or 4 dollars. I recommend this to anyone and I hope you all get the chance to try it. If you already have tried it or plan on trying it - let me know what you think :)

James Derrick Butcher ♥♥♥

Greatest reason for no Sunday polish change! :) My younger sister Kasey gave birth to the most handsome little boy I have ever laid my eyes on. He was born December 5th @ 4:42pm. He was approximately 1 week early, he must have really not wanted me to go to my first Indianapolis Colts game or change my polish this week :) but he is so worth it!! Maybe I can get some polish on later this week... but for now... my nails will just continue to be naked :)

Revlon Emerald City - Take 2!

Another pic of Emerald City. I felt like the previous pic I posted didn't look like the actual color - it almost looked blueish.

Oh also - Don't forget to follow me :)

Sunday Polish Change!! What I'm Wearing :)

So every Sunday I change my polish - this is what I have decided on for this week. It's called Emerald City from Revlon Matte Suede Collection. It's the only polish I have from this collection - so far! haha I really like it and I have gotten more fond of the whole matte/suede look. I feel like it's a little shiny for a matte polish and I might throw on a couple coats of Essie - Matte About You - Matte Finisher - but either way I think it's very appropriate for the winter/holiday season. Let me know what you think!

Welcome to My Blog!

For years I have been a fan of nail polish, it all started in high school, my mom was/is an Avon representative, she would get my sisters and me various polishes for Christmas, Easter, Birthdays, etc. I basically wore any color, pink, purple, glitter, black, anything. I wasn’t scared to try a new color and I didn’t really pay attention to what was “in” – and this was back in the day before Internet, but I feel like I knew what was cool – lol – I mean I was wearing black nail polish before Lindsay Lohan had her first drink. It wasn’t until about 5 years ago that I got really serious about my nail polish and nail care altogether. At that point in time I had approximately 40-50 polishes – mostly Avon brand with a few from Sally Hansen, Wet n Wild, Love♥ My Nails… your basic Wal-Mart/Drug Store brands. As I went through high school and into college I got more and more interested in it and started buying any color/brand out there. It then quickly became a habit. I now search the Internet for the hottest collections and do my research on which brands have what. I also try to see what the newest trends are and mix in my own creations.
Basically what I look to get out of this blog is to share my love of fingernail polish. I would like to have other bloggers contribute their thoughts and opinions of the nail polishes I have/use and make this a place where other polish lovers can get useful information from. Eventually I would like to have a picture inventory on here of my whole collection and kind of have a love it/hate it section. Just to see where each polish stands J

Thanks for visiting and I hope you come back soon!
