China Glaze - Shower Together!

Hey!! Hey!! Hope everyone is well - I'm having a good weekend - getting ready to leave in a couple of hours to head to my brother's game. So I wanted to do a quick post on the manicure I am currently wearing. It's China Glaze - Shower Together #650, which I got as part of my Christmas present from my sister Emily. It's from their Spring 2008 ECollection - I paired it with Essie - Mint Candy Apple #702. I love both of these colors and I think they paired very nicely. Underneath the polish I used Orly Nailtrition - I have been trying really hard to take better care of my nails/cuticles and I am actually starting to see a difference. I also picked up some Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream at CVS yesterday - so far I really like it. I love the smell and I like how it's not greasy and quickly absorbs into my skin. I was recommended this product by some of the great ladies on MUA. Well enough blabbing... on to the pics!! Let me know what you think!!

Orly - Charged Up!!

Hey!! Hope everyone is having a good week so far! Nothing too special with me - which is good :) This week I decided to try a polish that I bought last December - it's called Orly - Charged Up. This polish is from Orly's High Voltage Collection that came out in the Summer of 2008(feel free to correct me if I am wrong) - so obviously is an old polish - but when I saw it at CVS, I just had to have it! I love me some purple!! LOL Anyway I had a hard time getting this to photograph correctly, IRL it's more purple - but it kept photographing a royal blueish purple lol - Either way I really like it and is probably one of my favs. For this manicure I used Orly Nailtrition as my base coat, which is a Strengthening and Growth Treatment - my nails are really dry and peel when they get to a certain point so I am hoping this will help them. Then I used 2 coats of the Orly Charged Up and finished with Seche Vite. Has anyone else used Orly Nailtrition? Let me know what you think of it!

Zoya Kelly!

I finally got my 3 Free Zoya polishes! I was so excited when I got home from work and saw them there sitting on the counter - I just couldn't get them opened fast enough. I really think I heard them yell "yay! Mom is home" :) I am so happy with the choices I made - which were Kelly, Mimi and Morgan(of course!) I decided to try Kelly first - I really love this color - it's so beautiful! It's mainly gray with a few hints of purple and blue in it - it looks a lot lighter that it shows on the website, but that could have also been b/c I did 2 thick coats. For the base coat I used Sally Hansen Nail Protex - which is a vitamin fortified strengthener(my nails have been so dry and peeling lately) and I finished with 1 coat of Seche Vite - I really like this polish and from what I have read online - this was a very popular color choice for everyone during Zoya's 3 Free promotion - I am so glad I ordered it. So here are the pics :)

Oh!! I almost forgot - I got a new OttLite the other day from Joann's Fabrics - it was 50% off!! Woo!! Let me know what you think of the pics... I think they are a lot better since the sun is apparently scared of Indiana right now and I mostly do my manicures at night - well during the week anyway. I have always had an obsession with nail polish and a couple months ago got really into reading nail polish blogs - so I thought to myself - "Hey I can do this" lol I have so much nail polish and figured I might as well share my love for it all with the rest of the world! :)

I mainly read nail polish blogs and a few beauty blogs and I recently started hanging out on MUA.

3. Do you have a favorite make-up brand ?

I don't get much into make-up - I was bless with pretty good skin and don't have to wear a lot of makeup. If I had to pick one I guess it would be Mark - my mom sells it and they have beautiful eye shadows.

4. What about the favorite clothing brand?
I would have to say Charlotte Russe - that is where I get most of my clothes. I guess that counts as a brand lol
5. What piece in you make-up bag is the most important to you?
Hmmm that is a tie b/w mascara and eye lash curler lol I am sure that is the most common and boring answer ever - but what can you do? LOL

6. Your favorite color?
Purple!!
7. Favorite perfume?
I wear any and all of the VS Pink perfumes... there are too many to count - today I am wearing the fresh and clean perfume.
8. Your favorite movie?
I don't think I can choose one.. but I love Pretty Woman and My Fair Lady and Dirty Dancing

9. What countries would you like to visit?
Spain, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and I would love to visit Paris again!!

Baby Shower Manicure

Hey Everyone!! :) Hope you all had a good weekend! I really enjoyed mine - my brother won his basketball game on Friday night, my little sister Emily had a beautiful baby shower on Saturday, and I went to another great baby shower today! Lots of babies in my life right now lol! So I used my sister and her baby shower as inspiration for my manicure!! I used Nail Life gripper as my basecoat, then I used one of my old as dirt polishes for the main color - I used 2 coats of Love My Nails in Flirty Pink - this color is pretty much a Barbie pink and I love it! I used L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art polish in white for the decoration on my ring finger. Then finished everything with 2 coats of Seche Vite.

I am just now getting into nail art.. so I was pretty pleased with how it turned out!

Revlon Cotton Candy - Scented Polish

Hello!! :) Hope everyone is enjoying their week so far! I have another shout out to give - today is my little brother's 18th birthday :) They are just growing up so fast! LOL

Anyway this week's manicure is from Revlon's Scented Polish Collection - I saw these the other day at CVS - so I picked up Cotton Candy and Bubble Gum. I ended up giving the Bubble Gum to my sister Emily as a part of her bday present.

Again I used Nail Life gripper as my base coat and I ended up using 3 coats of the polish - it was very sheer - and I used Seche Vite as my top coat. Overall I like this polish - I think it's a little too light for my skin tone, I think it looked washed out. But I think the polish itself is pretty. And yes! it did smell like Cotton Candy - lol which I loved!! I have had this polish on since Sunday and I can still smell the scent. I am anxious to try some of the other colors, I am thinking the grape one will be my next purchase :) Let me know what you think :)
